Closing Ceremony of the First Vocational Chinese Training Program in Sri Lankan Customs – 14th Jan.

The closing ceremony of the first Vocational Chinese Training Program conducted by the Confucius Institute, University of Colombo, in Sri Lankan Customs was held on 14th January 2020, at the Wonder Hotel in Colombo.  Dean of Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, Senior Prof. Premakumara De Silva, Deputy Director of Sri Lankan Customs, M.S.A. Hassan, both of Sri Lankan and Chinese Directors Dr. Wimal Hewamanage and Prof. Huang Wei of the Confucius Institute of the University of Colombo, and all teachers of the Institute attended the event.

Deputy Director of Sri Lankan Customs, M.S.A. Hassan highly appreciated the program and he emphasized that the targeted professional and localized Chinese training in Sri Lanka is very helpful for Sri Lankan customs officials to learn Chinese and understand Chinese culture, so as to better help and serve Chinese visitors.

Dean of Faculty of Arts, University of Colombo, Senior Prof. Premakumara De Silva, on behalf of the Confucius Institute at the University of Colombo(CIUOC) expressed his gratitude for the lecturers and the trainees for their efforts made during the process of the program and congratulated the trainees on their successful achievement.  He also promised that the CIUOC is willing to provide more vocational Chinese training for Sri Lankan Customs.
